Head Movement Direction Model Based
on Continuous Attractor Neural Network |

Computer modeling of head direction cells (HDCs), the main neural mechanism of spatial navigation in
mammals, is the basis for brain-like navigation algorithms and localization of autonomous unmanned aircraft.
A three-dimensional model of the head direction cell based on the continuous attractor neural network (CAN)
is proposed. The developed model not only reproduces the key neurophysiological characteristics of HDC,
but also demonstrates robustness to noise and parameter variability.
