Calibration of the strapdown inertial navigation system in navigation mode

The proposed method of SINS calibration is a development of the method stated in [1]. Calibration is used in navigation mode of the SINS with a turn of the sensitive elements on the angles equal 180 degrees. Received final ratios that determine the errors of ac-celerometers and angular rate sensors: the accelerometers bias, scale factors errors and measuring axes orthogonality error of accelerometers and angular rate sensors. Suggested to use angular measurements of pitch to address nonobservability of the measuring axes orthogonality error of accelerometers and angular rate sensors. The new unified method of calibration for a substantial simplification of the test equipment has been developed. Calibration accuracy of the SINS in the proposed method is determined by the precision alignment of SINS axes and rotating stand and, to a lesser extent, depends on the setup of the stand in the horizontal plane and the azimuth and from the turn angles errors.
