Two main methods of laser remote sensing are described. The solution of the lidar equation
is given to determine the concentration of hydrocarbons in the atmosphere with the differential absorption method with respect to the radiating power on two close wavelengths. The method of selection wavelengths of the sensing and reference source of laser radiation is presented.
