Aerospace Instrument-Making Annotation << Back The semi-automatic “command” control of the aircraft flight (alternative to flight director system) A.Ya.Bondarets In modern aviation the semi-automatic way of aircraft flight control has been widely applied in the form of flight director system (FDS), which furnishes for pilot the steering commands necessary to obtain and hold a desired path. The alternative approach to the semi-automatic control circuit formation has been presented in this paper. The offered way of semi-automatic flight control is named here as "command". The main distinction of this way of flight control from FDS consists in the distribution of duties between the pilot and the automatic devices. The commands on correction of flight path are given out by the pilot, and automatics execute these commands. The examples of such semi-automatic flight control system experimental applications, and also results of studies, which have been carried out on the flight simulator, are shown.
