Aerospace Instrument-Making Annotation << Back Development of the MEMS-based three-axis unit for angular velocity determination. R.V. Bessonov, S.V. Dyatlov, A.A. Krupin, M.I. Kudelin S/c angular orientation parameters are determined by the joint usage of gyros, optical sensors (star trackers, solar and horizon sensors) and magnetometers. At present reliable s/c control can be provided with a system including more than one sensor type of those above listed. However usage of several sensors solving the same task lead to the increase of s/c mass, dimensions, power consumption and therefore to the rise of the space project cost.
