Method of Recognition of Optical Images
of Observed Space Objects Based
on Discrete Dynamic Programming |
Klyuchkin A.K., Demchenko E.S.
Space inspection is understood as a set of operations carried out using space-based equipment and aimed
at obtaining information about space objects of artificial origin through observation, including when
approaching them, in order to solve one of the applied problems.
A feature of the use of an inspector spacecraft to solve target problems is the need for their autonomous
guidance of space objects. To ensure stealth, a passive optical-electronic system is used as a measuring
device in the center-of-mass guidance loop of the inspector spacecraft.
A method is proposed for recognizing optical images of observation objects by on-board optical-electronic
means of an inspector spacecraft, based on discrete dynamic programming, describing the contours of
object images in the Freeman code, and introducing a structural metric. The corresponding algorithm for
identifying astronomical landmarks is presented.
Keywords: Photometric optical-electronic system, inspector spacecraft, target space object, measurement accuracy, mobile
observer, observed space object, optical system, optical image recognition, on-board optical-electronic means.
