The article considers an approach to the use of Markov chains in assessing the readiness of satellites for their intended use. Readiness is assessed by searching for the values of the intensities of the probabilities of translations between possible states of the system. A method is proposed that provides for fi nding the maxima of the probabilities of the occurrence of certain states of the system functioning process.
