Using an Optical Surveillance System
to Dock Flying Vehicles |

The article proposes to use an optical observation system to dock two fl ying vehicles. This
system may include two video cameras operating in the optical and infrared ranges installed
on board the docking fl ying vehicle, a module for integrating video information from these
cameras and diodes of different colors installed on board the carrier aircraft. An algorithm for
processing video information is proposed that allows you to point a docking fl ying vehicle at
the carrier fl ying vehicle. The use of an optical surveillance system makes it possible to reduce
the weight and cost of on-board equipment by replacing heavy, expensive radio equipment
with a lighter and cheaper optical surveillance system.
