Ermilina The paper considers fiber-optic sensors based on Fabry-Perot, Mach-Zehnder, Michelson and Sagnac optical interferometers. The use of interferometers makes it possible to significantly increase the number and accuracy of the measured parameters of physical quantities. The principles of operation of all interferometers are almost the same and they differ only in the methods of obtaining coherent waves. Since the methods for obtaining coherent waves are diverse, the design of interferometers can also be different. Recently, measuring systems and devices based on fiber-optic interferometers have been widely used. Increased interest in this area is associated with convincing advantages: the possibility of remote control and interrogation of sensor parameters, the possibility of multiplexing sensors into large arrays, and the absence of the necessary electrical power supply to the sensors. Some fiber optic sensors are used to monitor the deformation of aircraft, ships, bridges in real time. Despite the increase in research results and the expansion of applications, mainly due to the relatively high cost of optical devices, only a few of them have been introduced into production.
