MASTERING NEW TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS BY THE SOVIET AVIATION INDUSTRY IN THE POSTWAR PERIOD (1945–1960) |
M.Yu. Mukhin
In the post-war fifteen years, the Soviet aviation industry was forced twice to carry out a radical restructuring of production. The second half of the 1940s was marked by the transition to large-scale production of all-metal turbojet aircraft. Five years later, the USSR aviation industry faced the problem of the development and mass production of supersonic aircraft. Of course, the solution to each of these tasks was unthinkable without a major upgrade of the basic technologies of airlines. This article is devoted to the study of the main trends in this complex and controversial process.
Keywords: aviation industry, cold war, innovations, technical modernization, jet aircraft engineering, machine building.
