ON A CONTACTLESS CONTROL OF OUTDOOR OBJECTS’ TEMPERATURE FIELDS |
V.A. Ovsyannikov, Y.V. Ovsyannikov
This paper proposes an engineering technique for contactless control of objects’ temperature fields, which involves determining the spatial distribution of the true surface temperature of low-temperature objects in the outdoors using radiometric devices, such as thermal imagers or pyrometers, operating in 8–12 μm wavelengths spectral range, with negligible reflected solar radiation. The technique uses an optical model of atmospheric radiation for the cases of a cloudless sky; high cirrus, medium cumulus or low stratus continuous cloudiness during summer and winter seasons in mid-, and takes into account the location and the orientation of the object’s target surface, all of which signifi cantly affect the value of the environment’s radiation reflection and, as a consequence, the estimate of the desired surface temperature. The paper also provides an example of using that technique.
Keywords: thermal control, contactless temperature measurement, thermal imager, pyrometer.
