ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A REMOTE REGISTRATION OF POWERFUL LASER RADIATION IN THE EARTH`S ATMOSPHERE BY MEANS OF LIDAR MEASUREMENTS |

The article deals with the problem of detecting intense laser radiation from sources on board an aircraft or a satellite space system. It is shown that such powerful laser beams can be detected by meanth of Rayleigh scattering by a passive lidar with highly sensitive receivers based on avalanche photodiodes. The lidar action radius was calculated depending on the power of the laser beam and estimates of the power received by the lidar in the passive mode were obtained. Evaluations were performed for night conditions in the absence of solar exposure.
