DETERMINATION OF TEMPERATURE CHARACTERISTICS OF THREE-COMPONENT MAGNETOMETER |

The source of additional errors distorting a static characteristic for conversion of three-component magnetometers (TCM) applied in aerospace technology consists in temperature effects and wide range of its variation. Correction of temperature errors as a method of elimination their effects requires a preliminary determination of temperature characteristics concerning parameters of TCM conversion characteristic. Therefore, it is strictly important to choose instruments to measure TCM temperature characteristics with simplicity in its implementation and with proper effectiveness. Accomplishing of this task is complicated with a simultaneous combination of processes concerning formation of temperature and standard magnetic actions. Common instruments for determination of full spectrum of temperature characteristics are based on usage of sophisticated and high-priced instruments of magnetic induction, containing except for a ring system an integrated non-magnetic thermostat with an orientation device of tested TCM and complex system of its heating or cooling by blowing cooled or heated gas or liquid. Complexity of similar instruments restricts its accessibility for wide circle of specialists and consumers in their intentions to perform a temperature calibration and incoming inspection of TCM. Proposed method of elimination the above-mentioned issue includes a usage of instruments considered in this article and based on combination of two methods: formation of temperature effects and effi cient determination of parameters concerning TCM conversion characteristic, based on rotation of orthogonal basis axes and tested by TCM in the Earth’s magnetic fi eld and scalar-matrix conversions. Furthermore, proposed method for determination of ТCМ parameters by solution of matrix equation systems by means of computer greatly reduces a variety of methods, by reducing the required time for temperature calibration. Proposed method for implementation of temperature calibration in the Earth’s magnetic field with usage of rotating device with heat capacity body and as well as a method of its embodiment greatly simplifi es the instruments for determination of TCM temperature characteristics. Obtained mathematical expressions can be put into the basis of algorithm synthesis and as a method of determination temperature characteristics and correction of magnetometer temperature error.
