Murach, V.E. Vavilov, S.V. Panteleev Permanent magnet synchronous generator symmetrical short-circuit taking into account the rotor speed variation is investigated. It is shown that a shock mechanical load on the drive lasts for 3…5 voltage periods, after which the mechanical load decreases to values close to idle. It is also shown that the severity of this emergency depends on the design of the magnetic system and the shock torque and current is proportionate to the difference between direct and quadrature reactance.
