Aerospace Instrument-Making Annotation << Back Fast gyrocompassing Popov G.V. The paper describe alternative of constructing the ground gyrocompass. The ground gyrocompass structural arrangement with a single-axis suspension of the platform along the vertical axis relative to the housing is mounted on a stationary base is selected. The platform turning angle relative to the housing is measured. The platform carries the DTG in the mode of two-axis rate gyro with the vertical orientation of the axis of the gyro intrinsic angular momentum, and two accelerometers, sensitive axis which are parallel to the DTG sensitive axis. From this information the computer calculates the platform azimuth. The equations of ground gyrocompass are constructed. As result of instrumental errors analysis the three-step procedure for fast gyrocompassing is suggested.
