Mathematical modeling
of the screw-centrifugal pump

In the field of engine construction, the Russian specialists accumulated great experience to create turbo-pump units (TPU) for liquid rocket engine (LRE). As a part of the TPU as booster pump screw pump is used, the design of which, in general, is similar to the screw part of the studied screw-centrifugal pump. Since the 50s of last century, leading experts in the field of rocketry conducted researches on the reconfiguration of the screw pump’s wheel in their form, the degree of sharpening of the leading edge, varied the relative diameter of the sleeve, the angles of attack and installation. As a result, a large experimental data has accumulated on the properties of the cavitation of screw -centrifugal pumps, including high speed. Taking for a basis existing pump unit for pumping liquids and structured environments «NASH-15», we have created an adequate mathematical model of a screw-centrifugal pump. The developed technique allows to design high performance pumps of high anti-cavitation properties.
