INVESTIGATION OF MAGNETIC FIELDS AT NEW CONSTRUCTION OF A HOMOPOLARIUS MAGNETIC BEARING |

In this paper, magnetic fields in a new design of a homopolar active magnetic bearing (AMP) were studied by finite element methods (FEM) in the Ansys Maxwell software package with a threedimensional formulation. The study was carried out taking into account the influence of the magnetic fields of the AMP displacement on the magnetic field of the rotor and the output characteristics of the electric machine (EM). It is established that the influence of the magnetic fields of permanent magnets (PM) displacement on the magnetic field of the PM poles of the rotor and on the output characteristics of the EM is practically absent. Visualization of the magnetic fields of the rotor showed an identity with the calculation of the FEM. The test results of a mock-up sample developed by a homopolar AMP are presented and the infl uence of the PM bias on the EM output voltages in the generator mode is evaluated. The obtained results of experimental studies practically coincide with the results of the calculation of the FEM, which shows the adequacy of the presented models.
