DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM SENSOR FAILURES ACCOMMODATION USING NONLINEAR AND PIECEWISE-CONTINUOUS LINEAR MODELS OF NONLINEAR PLANT |

This paper presents digital control system mean time of failure-free operation calculation technique in a case of sensors failures detection, isolation and accommodation using hypothesis testing and set of Kalman filters based on nonlinear and piecewise-continuous linear models of plant. The matrices of piecewise-continuous linear model are estimated using nonlinear model time responses and random search method. The paper also presents the results of proposed technique application for mean time of failure-free operation growth comparison in the cases of aircraft turbofan engine digital control system sensors failures accommodation, sensors hot redundancy and using of fully independent backup hydromechanical regulator which starts working with a complete failure of the main system.
