MULTIFUNCTIONAL RADAR FOR HELICOPTER AIRCRAFT |

The article considers the questions of multifunction radar system construction for
helicopter equipment, which is designed for survey and search tasks performance. Radar is optimized in order to solve two groups of tasks – effi cient monitoring of the earth and sea surface with a wide range of coverage, as well as ensuring the crew’s safety during fl ights over complex terrain, under diffi cult weather conditions, at any time of the day, with autonomous basing outside the navigation infrastructure. Approaches to radar construction are based on the use of modern technologies, optimal energy potential and balanced system design, which guarantees high technical performance of the radar suitable for helicopters and other aircrafts. The multifunctional on-board survey and search radar is able to perform functions of several systems simultaneously. Application of the radar markers (RLM) interacting on the principles of the secondary radar together with the on-board radar gives additional opportunities to form the multifunctional radio engineering system with consolidated radar, navigation and communication functions.
