Coordinated control of a landing maneuver
at an unmanned aerial vehicle getting down under
the action of wind disturbances

After descending by a glidepath when performing a plane-type landing in a regular mode an alignment mode is accomplished with small linear deviations on two coordinates. However, under the action of the wind, mainly lateral, it can occur that either lateral deviation from the middle of the runway or lateral speed would be unacceptably high. To avoid it the task of the control of a special landing maneuver, such that zero values of both lateral and vertical deviations were achieved at the same time, is set. By means of dynamic programming the problem of optimal coordinated control of lateral and longitudinal motion during the landing of UAV is stated and solved, allowing to obtain quasilinear controllers structure with use of ailerons and an elevator. The method of approximate analytical calculation of con-trollers’ gains in quadratures is proposed. For synchronization of operations in two control channels it is suggested to increase position and speed gains in one regulator, reducing them in another simultaneously, and vice versa, acting as a balance beam in lateral and longitudinal motion coordination.
