Gravimetric system. Experience of development

The article provides an overview of the main steps in the development of quartz and string gravimeters by specialists of IU-2 department. Various design schemes as terrestrial gravity meters and GRAVIMETRY developed at the Department of IU-2. The results of flight tests in different regions it possible to obtain highly accurate maps of gravity anomalies, required for high-performance mineral exploration. Designs are ground and airborne gravimetry with precision temperature control systems. The high sensitivity of the developed gravimeters has been confirmed by experimentally. Examples of using various gyro-stabilized platforms for airborne gravimetric systems were considered. Results of laboratory and flight tests of the ground-and airborne gravimetric systems are presented.
