CALIBRATION OF REDUNDANT NONORTHOGONAL GYROS IN INERTIAL
MEASUREMENT UNIT ON INACCURATE TEST EQUIPMENT

The Inertial Measurement Unit redundant nonorthogonal gyro with inaccurate test equipment is considered. The mathematical models of each gyro are identified by calculus of approximations during the process of calibration. The identified coefficients are considered in IMU algorithms. The identifying (process) of mathematical models is carried out on basis of recorded sensors indications of IMU and estimated reference values of angular rate IMU vector. Reference values of angular rate IMU vector are estimated on basis of recorded accelerometers indications of IMU during the turn of IMU in vector gravity field. The procedure of calibration is not connected with gyros number and orientation in IMU. Reference values of angular rate IMU are calculated in accelerometers basis therefore the following agreement of accelerometers basis and gyros basis are not required. The precision test equipment is not required for this calibration procedure. The researches confirmed the efficiency of concerned method of calibration of low precision IMU on gyros channel.
